The vision of the Resthaven Foundation is to advance and expand the care and support for the aging population in our community. Our focus is to fundraise for much needed facilities, services, advanced care options and specialist aged-care education for Cambridge and the greater Waipa community. The emphasis is on making facilities and services accessible and affordable, wherever a person chooses to live - in a retirement village, rest home or in the wider community.Quite simply, we want to give our older community members choice.
Here is a fabulous project from 2021 - Project ResthaVAN...
2021 saw an exciting collaboration by the Resthaven Foundation and Cambridge High School’s Year 13 Extension 4 Class to raise money for a much-needed van for Resthaven. The project was an ambitious one – fundraising for a $70,000 van.
The students built a huge amount of goodwill in the Cambridge community, enthusing individuals and businesses to support their endeavours. It quickly became apparent how far-reaching the campaign was – students connected with high profile alumni in New Zealand and around the world, and the support flowed in, with phenomenal results. For the students the project was not only about raising money. They were inspired by Resthaven’s unique business model as a not-for-profit charitable trust and connected with Resthaven through visits to the residents in the care centre, and an invitation for Resthaven residents to watch Cambridge High School’s annual production.
